Family Fun

Two Week "Family Fun" Program

"Family Fun" is a two week activity and travel program during which you can spend quality time with your family members. This is a great opportunity to enjoy the vacation with your family and have some fun. You can introduce your children to sailing, canoeing, or the wonders of Indian lore. You can leave your worries at home and enjoy an amazingly beautiful wooded nature setting on the lake shore. Most importantly, you will mingle with American families, and experience the American family values and cultures.


The first week travel program will let you explore the sunny west coast, and enjoy the great fun from visits to the Disneyland, Universal Studio, the San Diego Sea World, and the city of Los Angeles. Travel options also include visits to San Francisco, New York, Washington D.C., Niagara Falls, world renowned universities such as Harvard, MIT, and Yale University.


Second week will take you to a beautiful lake side campus, and participate with other American families in activities such as Archery, Ping Pong, Arts & Crafts, Volleyball, Canoeing, Climbing Tower, Waterslide, Fly Fishing, Hiking, Golf, Horseback Riding, Ice Skating, Indian Dance, Indian Lore, Nature, Rocketry, Sailing, Skeet, Swimming, Team Sports, Tennis, Water Skiing, and Tetherball.

Elite Leadership Camp

This is a seven week all activity camp for young men and women, ages 14 to 17. This camp is designed to train students in leadership qualities such as self-discipline, self-confidence, responsibility, serving, team work, physical wellness, leadership skills and life skills. Boys choose among the Aviation, Horsemanship and Naval Schools. Girls are organized into Decks and participate in programs of their choice. Students participate in daily electives, afternoon recreation or intramural competitions and evening social activities.


Students choose from among 60 different classes that include Academic Work, Aeronautics, Sports, Fine Arts, Foreign Languages, Horsemanship, Technology, Water Front Skills, Leadership and Games of Strategy.


Schedules:


  • Morning and Afternoon : Formal instruction is offered during six daily class periods, each 45 minutes in duration. There are four periods before lunch and two after. Classes meet five days each week.
  • Recreation Period : This is mainly devoted to the Intramural Sports program. Other activities during free time include visits to the snack bar, visits with friends in the dorm lounges or use of many wonderful facilities, including the nine-hole golf course, 15 tennis courts, ice rink, swim piers, and sailboats. Theater rehearsals are also held during this time.
  • Evening: Evening activities are a time for relaxation, reflection and getting to know new friends. Campers will enjoy seminars on topics of interest presented by staff, movies, dances, Sunday evening socials, picnics, use of facilities (snack Bar, ice rink, recreation building).

In the last week of the program, students will get on an exciting east coast tour to visit cities such as New York, Washington D.C., Philadelphia and world famous universities such as Harvard, Yale, MIT, and Princeton University.

Academic Work

Academic & sports

American Classroom & Summer Athletics

This camp will combine the rigorous acedmic course work with fun summer sports at the famous Lake Tahoe - home of the Winter 1960 Winter Olympics. You will experience the real American classrooms, rub elbows with other American students and enjoy many outdoor activities around the beautiful Lake Tahoe. Daily classes take place Monday through Friday mornings, with two hours mandatory evening study halls. Courses include Biology, Chemistry, Geometry, English, Spanish, SAT Prep, ESL and Studio Art. Each afternoon, students choose to participate in one of the activities including mountain biking in the Sierra Nevada, swimming at Lake Tahoe, river rafting, rock climbing, and many more! Weekends are filled with activities and excursions, such as museum visits, boat cruise, or mountain hiking. Students will also have a chance to tour beautiful cities such as San Francisco or Seattle.

Junior Scouts Camp

This is an all activity camp for students age 9 - 13. This camp provides an unparalleled opportunity to participate in unique activities, improve academics and compete in athletics, all while improving self- confidence. Students also develop an understanding of and appreciation for nature and other cultures.


In this camp students will


  • Make friends from around the world
  • Learn by doing and acquire new skills in a wide variety of activities.
  • Acquire habits of neatness, promptness, poise and courtesy.
  • Earn awards and recognition for personal and group worth-while achievement.
  • Experience from seven to 15 different classes in the area of academic work (English, Math, Composition), fine arts(Arts & Crafts, Band, Bugle, Chapel Choir, Dance, Drum Lessons, Instrument, Theater Arts), sports(Air Rifle, Archery, Diving, Fishing, Fitness, Golf, Swimming, Tennis, Wrestling), nature study (Astronomy, Aquatic Biology, Basic Nature, Birds, Ecology, Geology, Insects, Plants, Reptiles & Amphibians, Trees), water front activities (Paddle Sports, Sailing, SCUBA, Snorkeling, Water Skiing). Other classes include Bible Study, Computer Technology, Spanish, Ice Skating, Equitation, and so on.
